Ocean University of China (OUC) is a comprehensive university with particular strengths in oceanography and fisheries science, also OUC is one of the Double First-rate Universities in China. The motto of OUC is “Ocean embraces all streams; exploring promises reaching far.”

Ocean University of China has a long history of international education and had been accepting foreign students since 1960. In 2017, there were 1221 international students from 82 countries. The School of International Education aims to cultivate international talents with Chinese spirit, OUC background and fine academic accomplishment.

The 21st century is an ocean-focused century and, inspired by this, OUC's goal is to develop a high-level university with international visibility.
OUC has three campuses – Yushan, Fushan and Laoshan. The School of International Education (SIE) is located in the Laoshan Campus, which is surrounded by mountains and seas with beautiful scenery.
